Where do we even begin? Originally built for a family in the 1830s, Adare Manor reopened in 2017 after an 18-month complete restoration and has been turning heads ever since. The restoration enhanced the beautiful, historic elements that were already there, while adding the modern touches we’ve come to expect with a five-star hotel. You’ll still feel like you’re in a magnificent Irish manor but with all the comforts of home. It’s no surprise Adare Manor was named Hotel of the Year by Virtuoso in 2018 (and has won countless other awards since reopening).
The service and the architecture – we can’t pick just one! First up: service. From the moment you pull up to the exquisite manor, you are greeted warmly and made to feel like you are arriving at your own estate. And it doesn’t stop there. Throughout your stay, the friendly and helpful team make the experience even better.
Now the architecture! This neo-gothic manor is a “calendar house”, meaning there are 365 windows, 52 chimneys, seven pillars, and four towers (to represent the seasons). And if that’s not fascinating enough, the Great Hall was designed by Augustus Pugin, whose other notable works include the Houses of Parliament. It was modeled after the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles and is the second-largest hall in Ireland.
