Is the Atlanta airport really as daunting as it seems?
While it is the busiest airport in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport can be made much more manageable with a few tips. The good news is that arriving at the airport has recently become a lot easier with the new MARTA rail line. There is now a station right in the domestic terminal side of the airport. Since there is a tremendous amount of business travel, the airport tends to be busiest on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, so try to avoid scheduling your flight during this time. It is important to wear shoes that are easy to take off (i.e. flip flops or slip-ons) and pants that don’t require a belt to avoid delays at TSA checkpoints. Lastly, since opening its brand-new international terminal last year, there are several perks for those travelers arriving back into the states after a trip abroad. They have eliminated the baggage re-check process for Atlanta-bound international travelers, increased parking (now more than 3,500 parking spaces), and built additional TSA security checkpoints to cut back on long lines.
