Why You Will Love It
Nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Sir Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The boutique hotel mixes traditional Moroccan décor with antiques from around the world, and each of the 28 rooms are individually decorated. You can stay in one of the bedrooms in the main house or one of the ten ultra-luxe Berber Tent Suites. And though the interiors are stunning, the real showstopper is the scenery – from the serene courtyards to the sweeping views of the mountains, valleys, and a traditional Berber village.
The peaceful setting. Kasbah Tamadot is only 45 minutes from energetic Marrakech but feels worlds away. The name itself means “soft breeze” in Berber, and the property embodies that tranquil sentiment. During your stay, you can find your inner calm at the spa, wandering through gardens, gazing at the stunning scenery, or sipping on a glass of wine under the stars.
Don't Leave Without
Indulging in the spa. The Asounfou Spa has a traditional Moroccan Mammam experience as well as other treatments that will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated.
Kasbah Tamadot has one restaurant, Kanoun, where you can enjoy local and international cuisine fireside. In warm weather, the hotel also sets up dining spots on the rooftop or in the pristine grounds.
Richard Branson’s dedication to giving back doesn’t stop at Kasbah Tamadot. The Eve Branson Foundation (named after his mom!) works to support the Berber community surrounding the property through teaching skills in three craft centers. During your stay, you can visit one of these centers and learn about the traditional techniques or purchase some of the handmade items.
A Bit of History
During one of Richard Branson’s ballooning expeditions in 1998, his parents discovered the property and fell in love. They easily convinced Branson to purchase the property from antique dealer Luciano Tempo, and the sale included a warehouse of antiques. And after seven years of renovations and training local staff, Kasbah Tamadot opened and became the stunning property it is today.
Kasbah Tamadot is located in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains overlooking the Ourigane Valley. If you can tear yourself away from the lovely property, you can go on hikes in the mountains, go on day trips in the surrounding areas, or visit local villages.
Fly into Marrakech, and the hotel is about a 45-minute drive through the rolling hills. Your advisor can arrange a private transfer or a VIP Airport service to or from the Marrakesh airport.
