If you asked Serena McClain what she is passionate about outside her family, without pause she would answer: travel. She has walked 500 miles through Spain, crossed the Atlantic Ocean by ship, worked as a barmaid in Edinburgh, and changed diapers in Phnom Penh. And from her travels, she has experienced the truly transformative nature of travel, and she thrives off of helping others discover our world.
Working closely with each client, Serena crafts customized itineraries that allow them to get the most out of the trip and enjoy a deeply satisfying, meaningful, and stress-free time away. She uses her global connections and personal travels to provide clients with authentic experiences. There are some experiences that only a travel advisor can make happen, and Serena works diligently to make the most impossible trips a reality.
Before deciding to turn her passion for travel into a career and join the Brownell family, Serena spent ten years doing marketing and editorial work for corporations and start-ups in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her travel writing has appeared in various print and online publications, including The Best Women’s Travel Writing and The Huffington Post. A citizen of the world at heart, she currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and son.
