The Opportunity

Brownell, the first travel company in the United States, is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications to lead, direct, and oversee marketing and communications for the company.  This position is responsible for the development, design, management, and execution of Brownell’s B2C and B2B marketing strategies, assets, and campaigns.  The Director of Marketing & Communications manages a team of three supporting various stakeholders including Partners, Talent Development, Incentive Travel, Entrepreneurs, and Brownell Leadership.  This role reports to the Chief Development Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for Brownell’s Hosting, Mentoring, and Incentive Travel units.
  • Craft compelling digital assets, managing websites, SEO strategy, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with Partners Team to execute revenue programs and support Independent Advisors’ digital marketing.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, manage press relationships, and drive talent recruitment efforts.
  • Provide marketing collateral and innovative ideas for Brownell Incentive Travel (BIT).

Goals

  • Streamline the digital marketing process for enhanced client engagement.
  • Create captivating social media content to attract and engage qualified prospects.
  • Grow sales originating from social media and website channels.
  • Establish metrics for understanding, tracking, and growing web-based leads.
  • Develop PR and video strategies for regular engagement and exposure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications.
  • 10+ years of marketing or related field experience (Travel industry experience is a plus).
  • Proven success in developing marketing plans and campaigns, supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Exceptional project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
  • Team management experience with a focus on individual and team success.
  • Metrics-driven mindset with a creative touch.
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
  • Email marketing experience (Constant Contact, MailChimp, Emma, or related).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, website hosts (WordPress, ShowIt, SquareSpace), and website analytics tools (Google Analytics).
  • Active on social media with proficiency in channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
