Director, Brownell Travel Incentive

Brownell Incentive Travel (BIT) is the full-service meetings and incentives division of Brownell Travel. The Director of Brownell Incentive Travel (BIT) will be responsible for sales and operations of this division, reporting to the CFO/COO of Brownell Travel & accountable for its profitable growth. The position is located at Brownell HQ in Birmingham, Alabama.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Provide daily leadership to the BIT operations and sales team
o Facilitate the profitable growth of the department, working with the Business Development Executive of BIT and executives of Brownell
o Ensure that the operational infrastructure is in place to support that growth and that it is scalable
o Provide coaching and problem solving for client challenges with Program Managers/Coordinators & sales team
o Ensure a healthy working environment and unity of purpose between BIT sales and operations teams
o Facilitation of the weekly BIT team meetings & the weekly sales meetings
o Motivate and encourage BIT Operations team to find positive ways to improve systems
o Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are updated and followed by team
o Serve as the sounding board for BIT team to resolve issues and answer questions
o Main Point of Contact for Air Desk coordination
o Work with CFO/COO to stay updated on technology tools needs for department
o Ensure training plan for new hires is updated and complete
o Develop a plan to conduct on-going training for current employees
o Review Program Manager’s client accounts to ensure compliance
o Review Letter of Agreements for accuracy to present to President or CFO/COO for approval
o Review pricing for new programs to present to President or CFO/COO for approval
o Stay abreast of industry knowledge and share with team
o Maintain positive partner relationships in collaboration with the team
o Other duties as assigned, including assistance with annual company meeting and other corporate initiatives, including EOS

SKILLS/APTITUDES
o Requires professional, courteous interaction with clients, supplier partners and colleagues
o Very organized and excellent attention to details
o Working knowledge of computer systems including use of Excel/spreadsheets
o Working knowledge of GDS preferred
o Experienced ClientBase user helpful
o Ability to balance multiple projects, synthesizes solutions, handle tasks simultaneously and delegates accordingly
o Proactive in assessing and resolving problems, initiates taking on new tasks
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Creative and fresh thinking
o Organized and task oriented
o Positive attitude and able to create a positive work environment

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL TRAITS
o Minimum 5 years travel industry experience
o Proven ability as leader developing team members and working with clients
o Strong work ethic
o Knowledge of meeting technology extremely helpful
o Able to perform all items stated above in a fast-paced environment
o Must be comfortable working with multiple points of contact, experienced in maintaining an agenda while managing several constituents (managers, agents, and supplier partners) and working with a variety of personalities
o High integrity and honesty
