Accounting Operations Clerk

Brownell is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the Accounting Operations Team with day-to-day companywide accounting and reporting support.

The position is located at Brownell’s headquarters at The Summit retail shopping center in Birmingham, Alabama.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Incoming commission research (checks, wires, ACH’s)
• Weekly Deposits
• Weekly credit card charges along with invoicing fees
• Disbursements check writing 2-3 times per week
• Help reconcile company credit cards
• Processing client ACH’s daily
• Sending of Wire transfers – Domestic and International daily
• Accounting monthly close responsibilities as assigned
• Customer service for Travel Advisors and Independent Contractors

SKILLS/APTITUDES
• Requires professional, courteous interaction with many points of contact on a daily basis
• High propensity for details, organization, and critical thinking
• Must have a basic understanding of accounting software
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• PC Skills: Outlook, Excel, automated accounting systems
• CRM/customer database experience desirable
• Travel agency accounting a plus

Incentive Travel Air Coordinator

Brownell Incentive Travel (BIT) is the Meetings & Incentives division of Brownell. Brownell is seeking a motivated individual to serve as Air Coordinator and report to the Director of BIT. The BIT Air Coordinator will be responsible for all airline travel as it relates to clients of BIT. The position is located at Brownell’s headquarters at The Summit retail shopping center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Remote position may be considered for the appropriate candidate.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Access and manage traveler information using online registration tool and CRM
• Quote estimated fares for prospective programs
• Compare and reserve domestic and international air schedules
• Determine best fares between published, group, contract, and private
• Ticket and exchange flights in Sabre GDS
• Track and communicate schedule changes
• Run and format routine reports for quality control
• Liaise with assigned Program Manager and Coordinator for each group
• Coordinate with Brownell Air Desk/Ticketing for needed training and support
• Travel with certain groups (3-4 per year) to provide air assistance onsite as needed
• Available during pre-determined nights and weekends when groups are traveling in an on-call capacity
• Reaccommodate travelers when delays and cancellations occur

CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related discipline (or comparable experience)
• Minimum of 4 years Sabre booking experience
• A background with international air routing
• Familiarity with group air and private charters
• Must have 2-3 years of general office experience
• Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required
• Comfortable working with multiple points of contact and working with a variety of personalities
