Paradise Found: The Resort at Pedregal


The Brownell Travel Girl adventured south of the border to The Resort at Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Read about her amazing experience finding paradise below.

From the moment the gates opened and I entered the gorgeous property of The Resort at Pedregal, I knew I was in for a treat. The friendly staff welcomed me by name, handed me a cocktail, and didn’t bat an eye when I drained my glass in 60 seconds. As I was whisked away to my room, I had the most magical feeling. Maybe it was everyone’s welcoming smile. Maybe it was due to the long day of travel. Maybe it was the drink (it was probably the drink). But whatever it was, I couldn’t help smiling because I knew I’d found paradise.

Where I slept: My room was perfection. Private plunge pool. Terrace. Fireplace. And let me tell you, this isn’t the fancy-pants suite—it’s an entry level room. The textiles, furnishings, fixtures, and views are sumptuous. The only thing that lured me out was the poolside nachos.

Speaking of nachos….

What I ate: What didn’t I eat?? Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. It’s all incredible. And I’m not talking the I’m on vacation so everything tastes better incredible. It’s seriously good…like lick your plate good. While lounging at the pool, you must get the previously mentioned nachos. Remember, you’re on vacation, so calories don’t count. For dinner, the cliff side restaurant, El Farallon is delicious. As the waves crash onto the rocks below and the spray soars overhead, you’ll feel like you are in a movie. You can select lobster (pick the lobster), fish, clams, and more from the fresh seafood bar and, the chef prepares to order. To die for.


What I did: There is a lot to do in Cabo. Whale watching, camel rides, spas, snorkeling…you name it. My very favorite activity was a ceviche making class. “Ceviche?” You’re probably asking, “the raw seafood dish?” Exactly. One of the incredible chefs from the resort (see What I Ate above) taught me the tips and tricks for making ceviche so good you’ll forget that that those shrimp were pink and raw 20 minutes prior. I also loved the tequila tasting class because—Hello!—what’s a trip to Mexico without tequila! Fun fact: tequila comes from a cactus!
