He’s experienced the mysterious lands of Myanmar; he’s spotted amazing wildlife in Africa; he’s seen the wonders of Egypt; and now Brownell traveler Morris Middleton is headed on a 30-day adventure through Sri Lanka and Southern India with a pit stop in Dubai! While he explores the beauty of the three countries, he’s going to share his dispatches with the Brownell blog.
But first, Morris gave us some insight into packing for 30 days (oh my!) on the road! While some of us would need 3 duffels, he’s managed to organize it to fit in one bag. Read more below!
PACKING FOR A MONTH AND SURVIVING
There’s a lot to remember when you’re packing for a fall trip to Sri Lanka, southern India and Dubai. Aside from “pack light,” it is still summer there so don’t overdo it. Here’s what I’ve got for 30 days on the road:
More Helpful Tips from Morris:
- For toiletries, I always pack full containers of shaving cream and the rest. If I run out, I’ve discovered there are stores there, and one of my thrills is arriving home with foreign-labeled consumer products. (You should see my lime Gillette Foamy can with the Japanese characters, and the organic mosquito spray cooked up expressly for my Thai hotel.)
- To maximize my on-the-road buying options I always pack two collapsible satchels, one nylon and suitable for checking, the other my beloved purple plastic stay-dry rafting tube I found in Hong Kong. It fits neatly in overhead bins and usually brings home dirty clothes my newly-acquired breakables have edged out of my luggage.
- I pack a zippered Otis Batterbee pouch containing 3-ounce toiletries in my carry on for inflight or layover airline lounge grooming.
- I always pack one extra outfit in my carry on. I learned my lesson the hard way when Singapore Airlines once politely delivered me to Tokyo Narita Airport — but not my checked bag.
Stay tuned for more from Morris!
