Each year Brownell’s top Advisors get to take a break from the day-to-day of creating exceptional travel experiences in the office and take a trip together. In May, they set sail through the Mediterranean aboard the Seabourn Ovation. Brownell’s Vice President, Martha Gaughen gives an inside look at her journey with Seabourn.
The Seabourn Ovation
Where did you go:
I loved our day in Spain. We were able to have lunch and take a cooking class with a local chef, Pilar, who is truly a culinary genius.
Why cruise to this destination?
I think cruising the Med is a great way to get a taste for a lot of different destinations and cultures. You can also discover which places you want to revisit for a more immersive journey.
Hands down our meal at The Grill by Thomas Keller. Be sure to make a reservation – it’s a real treat.
Insider tips for this cruise:
Work with your advisor to arrange private shore excursions to maximize your time in each destination and enjoy a more tailored experience.
Know Before You Go:
The time of year is very important when cruising the Med. The weather in late May or early June is ideal for enjoying the lovely outdoor areas of the ship and activities at each port.
Packing is heavily reliant on the time of year. We went during early May when the weather was a bit chillier. Most days required layers, so I packed a bit of everything to ensure I was prepared for warmer days on shore and cooler evenings on the ship.
Ideal Passenger for this Cruise:
This is a great option for past cruisers who love the lively on board ambiance. With so many fitness and wellness options on board and onshore, guests can be as active as they’d like while away.
