Our Favorite Romantic Getaways

top-romantic-destinations

Another year, another Valentine’s Day. Sure, most people agree that this is an overrated holiday, but you can’t just write it off (no one wants to be banished to the couch!). So this year, do something different! Forget the cheesy heart-shaped box of mediocre chocolates and some last minute gift you picked up after work, and give the gift of travel! There’s nothing like a romantic getaway for a long weekend or a once-in-a-lifetime trip to an exotic destination. Whether you spend the day relaxing or exploring, you’ll enjoy quality time with your significant other as you experience a new destination and make new memories. Some of our Advisors shared their favorite romantic getaways both domestic and international below.

Bora Bora Four Seasons! Gorgeous water and views and huge over water bungalows with the breeze blowing through. A great place to just be together.” –Troy Haas

Blackberry Farm is so wonderful!! Very romantic! I just returned home from there, and it is one of my favorite places on earth!” –Martha King

Little Palm Island in the Florida Keys or Qualia and Southern Ocean Lodge in Australia.” –Rebecca Falkenberry

Nayara Springs in Costa Rica (read about it here!) or Viceroy Riviera Maya in Mexico for abroad. Meadowood in Napa Valley for domestic (read about it here!).” –Laura Bassett

“Paris. Whether you’re enjoying a pastry at a charming cafe, wandering down the streets, or relaxing in one of the many gorgeous hotels (like the Ritz Paris or the Four Seasons Hotel George V), there’s just something so romantic about this city.” – Holly NeSmith

“Domestic: Blackberry Farm. International: Hermitage Bay [in Antique and Barbuda]” –Louisa Gehring

South Africa – there is so much to discover in this destination, from the charming wine lands to Cape Town to safari, and what better way to experience a bucket list destination than with your significant other?!” – Brooke Whatley

“Maldives!” –Sarah Lee

“I think New Orleans is a very romantic destination if you avoid the throngs of party-goers on Bourbon Street. Intimate restaurants, romantic hotels, and mystery abounds.” –Haisley Smith
