WHAT IS A TRAVEL ADVISOR?

A travel advisor is a professional travel consultant with the resources, connections and expertise to add great value to your travel plans. Travel advisors work in partnership with you to select and plan travel experiences that are tailored to your unique wishes and budget. The benefits of using a travel agent/advisor are many, and you may find you uncover new perks each time you work with your travel advisor.

In contrast, some travel agencies with large call centers are often inbound marketing specialists with little to no actual travel experience. They are encouraged to sell certain properties and cruise departures. Their goal is speed and volume – that means taking your order and moving on to the next customer as quickly as possible. The disadvantages of using a travel agent is that they may not be able to provide guidance or answer questions about the destinations, cruise lines or properties you are interested in. Many times, due to their marketing partnerships they offer “one-size-fits-all” vacation packages.

HOW DO I FIND A TRAVEL AGENT?

You’ve come to the right place! Brownell travel advisors are the best travel agents in the world! Use the menus at the top to select a travel advisor based on the destination you wish to visit, or the type travel you are interested in (family travel, honeymoon, luxury beach vacation, safari, etc.) You will be presented with a list of specialists, each uniquely qualified to help with your travel plans. Visit each of their pages for a virtual introduction. Browse through their photos, see their most recent and upcoming travel plans and read unedited testimonials from their clients. Select the travel advisor that you feel is the best fit for your personality and travel dreams. Can’t make a decision? That’s ok too! Click the “Request Travel Info” button on our homepage and we’ll match you with a travel advisor.

Don’t see your travel advisor listed as a specialist for something you are interested in? Don’t fear! Brownell travel advisors are very qualified “travel generalists.”  They are ready and able to use our vast network of contacts and resources, and to lean on their Brownell colleagues to plan the trip of your dreams.

WHAT IS A BROWNELL TRAVEL SPECIALIST?

Brownell travel advisors are largely recognized as the very best in the world in terms of expertise and professionalism. Our travel advisors are encouraged to specialize in several destinations and travel types in order to offer clients true insight and also to deepen our team’s collective knowledge. Beware of the holiday travel agents who claim to be qualified to plan your very complicated independent tour of any destination on the planet – you’re much better off working with someone who knows a lot about several destinations, instead of a little about a lot!

Internal competition for the specialties you find here and here is fierce! Advisors are vetted through an intense qualification process that factors their education through recent travel to the area, the number and intensity of client trips planned, and client feedback. When you select a specialist, rest assured you are working with a travel advisor who is deeply qualified and very excited to work with you.

DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A BIG BUDGET TO WORK WITH A BROWNELL TRAVEL ADVISOR?

The short answer is… No! If you consider travel an investment in life and you value the experiences and memories that travel brings, then you will find great value in working with a Brownell travel advisor. This investment gains you access to potential upgrades, credits, amenities and a richer experience. Our travel advisors save you time by saving you from fruitless and frustrating Internet searches; and make sure your travel dollars are handled with the very best of care by well-vetted, financially secure travel partners.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WORK WITH A TRAVEL ADVISOR?

Do travel agents charge? Yes, travel agents and advisors are compensated for their time, expertise and the resources they deploy on your behalf. Brownell travel advisors charge planning fees, a model much like architects, interior designers and financial planners utilize. Average travel agent commissions are nominal and fees allow travel advisors the freedom to invest time and great care in your departure. Fees range from $25 for simple hotel bookings, to upwards of $250 per week based on the intricacy of the itinerary, length of travel and number of passengers. Please note, the planning fee is custom to each client and departure and is up to the discretion of the travel advisor. Very often, clients find that they more than make up the planning fee in the discounts, food and beverage credits, extra amenities and value-adds that Brownell travel advisors are able to offer.

WHAT KIND OF TRIPS SHOULD I BOOK WITH A TRAVEL AGENT/ADVISOR?

Once you become a Brownell Traveler, you are unlikely to ever book travel on your own again! You will find that your travel advisor adds value to even the simplest of reservations and the experience of working with him/her is a great joy. We find that clients often come to us the first time when they have become frustrated with travel agency call centers and are looking for true expertise and guidance with one of the travel types below. Of course, this is just a small sample of the type of travel experiences our advisors create in collaboration with their clients.
