Rene Steele found her calling in the Travel Industry at an early age. She was born and raised in Northern Maine, and moved to Birmingham in February of 2005 to be closer to family. She is fortunate enough to have family up and down the entire East Coast, allowing her to travel to all of these places throughout the years. After working at the reception desk at Brownell for about a year, she accepted the position of Leisure Travel Assistant to Meg North, Executive Vice President of Brownell Travel. “I have one of the best teachers in the entire industry. Not a day goes by where I don’t learn something new from her. She is amazing!”“Being in the industry at such a young age is truly a blessing in disguise. The sky is the limit as long as you’ve got the drive to get there. I have so many years to learn and explore while building long lasting relationships with clients and vendors all over the world.”

While watching and learning from Meg’s every move, Rene has developed a strong passion for the Caribbean, Africa, Honeymoons, Family Travel and Destination Spas. She has earned her CTA Certification, and has also become a “Virtuoso Spa Specialist”. In August of 2008, Rene was named a “Virtuoso Rising Star” by the owners and managers of her agency.
