The Florida Keys and Miami with Kids-March 2008

On this family vacation with our 3 year old and 8 year old in tow, we spent the first part of our time at Acqualina, a wonderful family friendly luxury property north of the hustle and bustle of Miami. It features spacious suites, a perfect beachfront location, family pools and more private adult pools. The rest of our trip was spent exploring the Florida Keys from Hawks Cay, a property that is nearly completion of a multi-million dollar revival. From our deck, we could watch the children swimming in the day and hear tropical music in the evenings. The dolphins in the cove were a stone's throw away and children as well as adults have the opportunity to swim with them. Between the two destinations, we stopped to spend a day at the Everglades - it was truly amazing how an hour in the car brought you out of a major metropolitan area and into a true wildlife sanctuary. We easily saw herons, turtles, alligators and much more within a few steps from our car.
