Brownell Vice President of Marketing & Development Haisley Smith and her husband Carlton returned from a fabulous December cruise in the Caribbean with the award-winning Crystal Cruises. During the 7-night cruise on the Crystal Symphony, they stopped in Turks & Caicos, St. Barth, St. Kitts, and Tortola. New to cruising, Haisley was pleasantly surprised by the ease of getting on and off the ship, the spacious cabin, and the on-board experience.
As soon as Haisley and Carlton arrived at the port, their luggage was swept away by porters, and they boarded the ship with ease. “I was expecting a long line of passengers juggling their luggage while jockeying for position to board. The process could not have been easier or less stressful,” says Haisley.
On board there were plenty of activities including flower arranging, iMovie classes, and a large gym with personal trainers. The dining room and specialty restaurants served fresh, beautifully prepared food for all tastes, and they also enjoyed dining on the verandah in their stateroom. After dinner Haisley recommends going to see a show, movie, or a game in the theater. “After only a few days I quickly learned why Crystal has consistently been voted the top cruise line in Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure.
Since the Symphony is a smaller ship, it can reach ports that the mega-ships can’t. From exploring the charming town in St. Kitts to discovering a hidden beach in Tortola to seeing the newly Hotel Le Toiny on St. Barth (“Simply GORGEOUS”), Haisley and Carlton found a new adventure at each port. There were also options for shore excursions that ranged from “full-on lazy to hyper-adventure.”
“Every preconceived notion I had about cruising was slashed after this cruise experience. Carlton and I laughed harder than we have in years and spent quality time together that you just can’t get when emails and texts are coming in every minute. We can’t wait for our next adventure at sea!”
